How do students get access?

We built a dedicated Goin’ platform for your university, branded as Goin’ to “Uni X.” This is an invite-only platform. Students can access it through a unique invite, which will be shared exclusively by your university. If you want access to the community, please contact your university.

How is data protected? Comply with GDPR?

We want to be an example when it comes to data ethics. We live in a time when users are more critical than ever regarding the use of their data. And they should be, it’s theirs! One of our missions is to make social networking platforms more ethical regarding the data of their users. Please read our data ethics policy for more information.

How do you ensure monitor and/or ensure appropriate behavior on the platform?

At Goin' we're serious about behaviour on the platform. We are using the best and smartest combinations of technology, the student community and community managers to make sure content and behaviour on the platform is in lign with our Code of Conduct and Data Ethics policy.

How much work is it for us?

Zero! Goin’ is a student-led platform with no direct involvement of the university. That’s the best environment for creating friendships among students and the core of what Goin’ is: friendships software.

We built a specific Goin’ platform for your university, branded as Goin’ to “Uni X”. This becomes an invite-only platform. The only task for the university is sending the invite, while we provide you with the best practices and all materials in order to do so effectively.

As for the practical content on the platform, a lot is user-led, but we do provide students with links to practical information, tips and events. For this we use smart linking. We set up the information on Goin’ directly linked to the information on your existing channels, so you don’t have to do anything and any updates elsewhere are also updated in the app.

What makes us different from an Ambassador Platform?

Goin' differentiates itself from a typical Ambassador Platform by focusing on creating a comprehensive social layer of communication that boosts social proof. Unlike ambassador platforms, which usually facilitate one-to-one interactions between prospective students and selected current students or staff, Goin' provides a dynamic "Many to Many" communication model. Goin' integrates new students into a vibrant community beyond just ambassador interactions, creating genuine connections through multi-layered interaction types—from one-on-one to dynamic group discussions. It’s all about encouraging authentic friendships and support networks that go well beyond simple Q&A.

Community Focus: Goin' connects offered students not just with ambassadors, but with a full community of current students and peers. This allows for richer, more varied interactions and social proof, showing the real-life vibrancy of the student community.
Social Integration: With Goin', new students are introduced to a social environment, simulating the diverse interactions they would experience on campus. This approach is designed to forge stronger, more authentic connections and friendships.
Layered Communication: Goin' offers a layered approach to communication that includes one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many formats. This enables tailored communication strategies, from individual queries to group discussions and mass engagement.
Beyond Q&A: Instead of just answering questions, Goin' creates a social-focused community where students engage with each other on a range of topics, share experiences, and provide a support network, going beyond the practical focus of an ambassador platform.

At Goin, we are committed to making our mobile app accessible and inclusive for all users, including those with disabilities. We continuously work to improve the experience and welcome feedback to help us make the app better for everyone. At the moment we arepartially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 A standard.

Accessibility Features

To support a wide range of user needs, Goin includes the following features:

High Contrast: Key elements have sufficient contrast to aid users with low vision, although this may vary with the color settings that a University Community has.
Simple Navigation: The app layout is designed for intuitive navigation, with clear labels for all main navigation elements.

Areas for Improvement

We are aware of some areas that may need improvement:

Limited alternative text for some complex images or icons.
Third-party integrations may not fully meet accessibility standards.
Assistive Technology Support: The app may not support all various assistive technologies, like voice commands and switch controls.
Goin supports text scaling based on your device's settings, but this can be improved for the very big text types.
